reshapr-inside-sbx

A Docker Sandboxes (sbx) kit that runs a reShapr MCP server inside the sandbox, in the sandbox's own Docker daemon, and registers it with the agent. Nothing runs on your host, and there is no API key to manage.

reShapr turns REST, GraphQL and gRPC APIs into MCP tools. By default the kit imports the public Open-Meteo weather API, so you can try it right away.

Use

sbx create docker.io/docker/sbx-kit-claude:2.1.296 --name reshapr-in \
  --kit docker.io/yadayac/reshapr-inside-sbx:0.3.0
# reShapr starts in the background; wait for the import to finish:
sbx exec reshapr-in tail -3 /tmp/reshapr-start.log # ends with an "Endpoints" line
sbx run reshapr-in

Ask: "give the forecast in SFO". Works with Claude, Codex and Copilot workloads.

Use your own API

sbx create <workload> --kit docker.io/yadayac/reshapr-inside-sbx:0.3.0 \
  --kit-arg openapi=<openapi-url> --kit-arg backend=<api-base-url> \
  --kit-arg exposition=<org>/<exposition-name>

Args: release (default 1.0.0), openapi, backend, exposition. Allow the hosts of your OpenAPI document and backend with sbx policy allow network <host>. The exposition path comes from the API title and version (reshapr expo list inside the sandbox).

Good to know

  • Takes about a minute to start and uses about 1 GB of RAM.
  • The API is re-imported on every boot (the database is not persisted).
  • A session opened before the import finishes has no reShapr tools and may fall back to web search.
  • The kit allows registry.reshapr.io, quay.io, cdn01.quay.io, raw.githubusercontent.com and api.open-meteo.com.

Verify the signature

sbx kit verify docker.io/yadayac/reshapr-inside-sbx:0.3.0 \
